Being "into watches" is really about being able to appreciate and recognize achievements in utility and design. As I will try to illustrate over time, making a nice watch is very hard to do. Many of the watches I criticized for a long time, I have recently come to appreciate for their classic looks and on going charm. Further, some things which appear nice at first often end up losing their novelty and on going appeal.
Some watch websites are better than others, but still there is a general lack of cohesion among them. The best you'll see are watch websites linking to each other, and mention each other's content. There is no one source for content, nor is there any universal manner of reviewing watch. Which brings up another important point. Watch reviews are plentiful if you know where to look, but getting the right information can be very difficult. I applaud the dedicated individuals who take the time to review watches. For the most part this is a grass roots effort based upon watches that people buy. When reviewing watches, there is no universal way of doing so, nor is there a list of criteria to go over. If you are lucky enough to find a watch review on the watch you want, you are luckier still if the review tells you what you need to know. The closest example of universalized watch reviews are those coming from some of the watch magazines such as WatchTime, InSync, and International Watch. The problem however, is that they review only a handful of watches, which are usually very highly priced, and the review often don't touch upon the issues which are important to most watch owners. I am as interested as the next person in the minute details of a watch movement's inner mechanisms, but I don't want 70% of a watch review discussing it.
One can easily gather that this is a first generation of phone watches from large watch makers such as Tag Heuer. Here you basically find a phone jammed into a watch. In the future, one can anticipate phones taking the looks of watches, while retaining their expected level of functionality and reliability, until then the world has these toys to play with.

German watches enjoy a lot of appeal to many watch enthusiasts due to their quality and relatively high value for the price. No one can sum up the entirety of German watches in one bold statement, but overall, German watches are more dedicated toward usability and performance than the prestige that most Swiss watches go for.
Serious bloggers will take things a step further to enjoy the highest amount of visibility for their blogs. Engaging in SEO (search engine optimization) tactics can increase search page ranks and relevance. Thereby making the website more visible for new eyes.
It is this sub 00 watch segment which is mostly ignored. There are likely some reasons for this, but I think it is a negative omission that could easily be addressed. In the US, most watches sold, by far, are under 00. There is no good resource for information on what is out there, and new items from manufactures. Aside from online forums, such as the Poor Man's Watch Forum, there is little out there on the strongest segment of the US market. Hopefully this will change in time.
The star of the CTS57-0701 is the movement that is the super accurate quartz caliber A660H. This movement is taken from the Citizen Chronomaster (not sold in the US). One feature the movement has is a perpetual calendar with an individual date setting button. You can't see the buttons as it is recessed into the case, but it is in the 1 o'clock position and is used to adjust the date without messing with the time (as this movement also has a hack seconds function that stops the seconds when pulling out the crown for precise setting).
This may look like a pretty average watch, but in actuality it represents years of effort. This is one solid circular LCD (liquid crystal display) screen, something that is very hard to do. It also displays 262,000 colors, unlike the monochromatic watch LCDs that you are used to.
Here is a little enjoyable blog about celebrities and their Rolex watches. Some shots are glamorous, some are less than so. The bottom line is that these celebrities never seem to take their Rolex watches off. Don't be impressed however when a celebrity chooses to wear a Rolex. They sure are nice watches, but they are basically the default "nice watch." Sort of like "new money's first luxury watch." Never a bad choice, but not the only choice. Nevertheless, no true watch collection is complete without at least a handful of Rolex watches. Rolex sort of has you cornered like that, and celebrities too for that matter.
The gold color of the accenting in the dial compliments the color of the DLC covered case. I would go so far as to say that it has a richer, prouder look. Even though a watch of this nature is meant to survive the extremes, it is more than even an attractive and functional watch for everyday wear. On top of that, Ball watches are a great value compared to other Swiss counterparts.
There are two types of background materials to choose from on the C1; carbon fiber or guilloche machined steel. I highly recommend sticking with the machined steel. Carbon fiber is a great material. Light, and strong, it can be shaped in nearly any manner. It serves no functional purpose on a watch face other than to add what is honestly a cheap looking three dimensional effect. This material is completely overused on watch faces these days, and must be carefully implemented to look right. The machined steel on the other hand is much nicer. High-end products often contain machined steel, which has a series of circular pattens caused by a machine polishing. High-end Spyker automobiles use this finish on their dashboard for an excellent look. The machined steel background also does not contrast as harshly with the dials on the face. The problem however, is the non-machined clover shape outline of the subdials does not integrate well with either background as the transition is harsh and unappealing. This is a problem with all watch faces that feature a "layered" look.
